Chennai: Gleneagles Hospital Chennai has launched Diabetes Exceptional (Code) aimed at providing overall diabetes care, education and patient engagement. The club was established by actor Ve Sekhar. He has launched a dedicated call center number to educate the public about diabetes.
The Code Initiative offers patients a variety of benefits, including diabetes education, access to a dedicated diabetes helpline, personalized physician interactions, networking opportunities, and free annual health checks.
The club provides access to exclusive events to enable individuals to take charge of their health, while providing information on the latest advances in diabetes care. A dedicated call center number is intended to inform and promote healthy lifestyle choices, pre-diabetes prevention and diabetes management among young people.
“As they are currently diagnosed with diabetes and have over 110 million Indians diagnosed 136 million in the prediabetic stage, India has emerged as the capital of diabetes. The increased prevalence of diabetes is greatly driven by urbanization, genetic predisposition and lifestyle changes. Gleneagles Hospital aims to bridge the gap in diabetes care by promoting structured patient engagement and active health management,” said Dr. Ashwin Karuppan V, Senior Consultant for Internal Medicine and Diabetes.
