EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14) — With a brand new facility and a renewed mission, the El Paso Center for Diabetes is opening its doors – offering the borderland a welcoming, educational, and resource packed space for anyone navigating their diabetes journey.
Ana Paola Rodriguez, Registered Dietitian shared, the heart behind the center is simple – making sure every person in El Paso feels supported.
“We really want to let all of the community of El Paso know that hey have a home here,” Rodriguez said. “Whatever they need in terms of their diabetes journey, care, education – we want you to know that you have a home. You can always come to the center.”
Though the El Paso Center for Diabetes has served the region for over 50 years, the new location marks a major milestone. The center has now expanded thanks to the support of the the Paso del Norte Health Foundation and generous donors. Their contributions helped transform the facility into a modern, comfortable, and educational hub.
As Ana guided us through the facility, she highlighted the thoughtful features designed with patient comfort and empowerment in mind.
Intake Room: Visitors can receive free A1C screenings – a key part of diabetes management.
Consultation Rooms: Three private consultation rooms provide a space for one on one conversations. Here, patients can open up about their challenges, ask questions, and receive nutritional assessments tailored to their lifestyle and health needs.
Teaching Kitchen: A warm and welcoming space where cooking and education come together. The center will soon begin offering cooking classes, diabetes self management education sessions, and even cooking demonstrations.
With expanded resources and a space designed for community connection, the El Paso Center for Diabetes is ready to make an even greater impact across the region.
Whether you’re looking for education, support, screenings, the team is ready to welcome you in.
