Living with diabetes educational webinar is free, open to public through VisionCorps | Health

A free educational webinar, open to the public, about living with diabetes and how diabetes impacts vision is set for March 13, offered by Lancaster-based nonprofit Vision Corps.



Vanessa McCachren, a registered nurse who specializes in diabetes and nutrition care at Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health’s Diabetes and Nutrition Center.




The program, titled  “Thriving, Not Just Surviving: Tips for Living Well with Diabetes,” features Vanessa McCachren, a registered nurse who specializes in diabetes and nutrition care at Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health’s Diabetes and Nutrition Center. She is a certified diabetes care and education specialist.


McCachren will talk about how diabetes impacts health, as well as diabetic retinopathy and how it affects vision. A question-and-answer period will follow McCachren’s presentation.

The program, which is part of the “VisionCorps Presents” series, runs from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.

VisionCorps’ goal is empowering people who are blind or vision impaired to attain independence. The organization serves almost 2,000 individuals with rehabilitation services in Lancaster, Lebanon, Chester, York and Adams counties.
