Southeast Georgia non-profit hosting 5K/10K run for diabetes awareness

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) – The 912 Initiative is encouraging everyone to stretch their legs to help raise awareness and support for diabetics across Southeast Georgia.

Talki Foundation founder, Charlie Komons, says the organization is expanding its footprint in the region and will host a 5K/10K run on Saturday, Nov. 22 at Howe2Run at 11 Gateway Blvd in Savannah.

The Talki Foundation assists low-income diabetic patients, hosts monthly community meetings focused on diabetes education and provides free on-site blood glucose testing. For more information about the organization, click here.

Registration is $30 for the 5K and $35 for the 10K. Both races start at 8 a.m.
