The Yankees welcome diabetic children and their families to the stadium for their annual Diabetes Education Day – Bronx Times

The Yankees and Children's Hospital in Montefiore have partnered to host local children with diabetes and their families for Diabetes Education Day.

The New York Yankees welcomed several children diagnosed with diabetes at Yankee Stadium for their annual Diabetes Education Day on Friday, August 1st.

The event, hosted by Children's Hospital in the Department of Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes in Montefiore, provided opportunities for these children and their families to spend time at the ballpark, while learning more about how to manage diabetes.

Several community-based organizations and health professionals handed out educational information and provided resources to children and their families. The children also got to participate in arts, crafts and games, and enjoyed healthy food.
