VASD nurses start group for students with Type 1 diabetes | Local News

Verona Area School District (VASD) nurses recently launched the VASD T1D Mentorship Group, an opportunity for students living with Type 1 diabetes to connect and collaborate across the district.

A total of 18 students from grades 1-12 who share similar experiences got together for the first time this month to build confidence, resilience and a sense of belonging. The mentorship group plans to meet every other month.

VASD aims to equip students with the tools they need to thrive academically, socially and emotionally while managing the unique challenges of living with Type 1 diabetes.
