of Texas A&M Agrilife Extension Service will be holding a four-part “Cooking Well with Diabetes” series of classes starting March 14 in Waco.
The program will be held every Thursday from March 14th to April 4th from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the AgriLife Extension Office, 4224 Cobbs Drive, McLennan County. Registration fee is $40. Registration deadline is March 11th.

Program goals
The goal of this program is to help people living with diabetes and their loved ones make healthier choices by learning how to change the foods they eat and the way they prepare them.
The material is based on: american diabetes association and Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Recommendations and current trends in medical nutritional therapy.
Diabetic cooking topics
Through fun and interactive cooking demonstrations, the course will cover the following topics:
- Recognize carbohydrates in food.
- Plan balanced meals.
- Increase healthy fats.
- Improves sodium and fiber content.
