Information on diabetes education classes in March

MT Fun — Diabetes Education at Henry County Health Center will be holding the following classes in March.

Monday, March 18 — Free Pre-Diabetes Class, 12-1 p.m., Suite 25

Free educational sessions to prevent the development of type 2 diabetes.

Thursday, March 21 — CGM Support Group, 2-3 p.m., Suite 25

Find support and get the latest information about continuous blood glucose monitors.

Monday, March 25th — Diabetes Group Class, 8:30am-2:30pm, Suite 25

This diabetes education class is open to anyone with type 1 or type 2 diabetes. There is a charge. However, many insurance plans cover this program.

Call the HCHC Diabetes Education Center at 319-385-6518 to register by Friday, March and we will walk you through the process. twenty two.

Topics include meal planning and more. Exercise; Personal goals; Eye disease. Glucose monitoring. Foot, skin and teeth care. Complications of diabetes. Diabetes explained. drugs; and behavior modification. There will be time for questions.

The purpose of this program is to provide people with diabetes and their families with up-to-date information about the disease and to remind them that diabetes education is a lifelong process.

HCHC Diabetes Education Center is accredited by the State of Iowa. We are also certified by the American Diabetes Association, which ensures that we meet national standards for diabetes self-management education programs.

HCHC’s Diabetes Education Team offers certified diabetes educators through the National Diabetes Educator Certification Board.
