Healthy Living: Infusion Therapy for Health

Accurate forecast from ABC. 7. >> I think it's famous. >> Okay. In the US, you think of hospitals when you get sick and you think of fluids and medicines you need? But did you know they say IDEALS? Think of Ivies. >> Haha. >> Yeah, I saw it. For a minute I thought they had IVF, so I saw it as IDEALS. Don't just come out, just come out. Dr. George Morris is back. He's going to put up with the meanness for a few minutes. Thank you. Doctor, how are you doing? Let me try some more. Okay. IVS is also called Ivy >> This is an important thing that people can use. Sometimes. Like I said, people just associate it with illness and needing medicine or something like that. But you can actually start some health habits here. I think especially with digestive health, nutrients you need and things like that. >> That's right. Historically, without ID there would be no modern medicine. Yeah. If you really think about it, if GOT works, we should be doing something like Singer's tube feeding in the medical field. We want to continue GOT. And of course, we want hospitals to use ID nutritional supplements to prescribe medicines so that they can save someone's life. ID medicine is slightly different, but it has the same roots. There was animal and human research going on in the 1810s and 1820s. They were really trying to figure out what was going on from the mouth to other orifices. Like, how do you digest it, like you said in your last commentary. They were doing a lot of experiments. And then when she was 18, they actually figured out that her arteries and veins were exchanging nutrients. And then when Biden was 19, there was a local electrical engineer named Dr. John Myers. He figured out how to get minerals and vitamins into IT. But that changed the game, and it really did. And then in 1968, at the University of Pennsylvania in Pennsylvania, he discovered how to utilize amino acids for proteins. This is the beginning of what we call nutritional medicine. A breakthrough that probably happened in the last 50 to 100 years. >> I can only imagine how this knowledge came about. >> Nutrition has given us the ability to eliminate the digestive issues that a lot of people have, especially over 40. So, for some people, you might be able to put in more directly things that help increase the efficiency of your cells. It really changes your digestion by giving you energy and helping you get rid of toxins. Once you're over 40, you don't know what's going to happen in your body. So there's always this misconception that stomach congestion starts in the mouth. Yeah, and you have three salivary glands. So chewing and having time in your mouth is actually what triggers all the work of the stomach congestion, the glands, the gallbladder. So there can't be a burnout of pancreatic enzymes. That's certainly part of it. But think about what happens over time. You're not going to be able to effectively do those triggers, and that's probably a big cause. And then the bad food accumulates. >> That's for sure. As we talked about during the break, I, I mean, if I have something bad, a trigger, I get acid reflux. I've always had that in my life. So when that happens, you're probably going to get therapy, but try to avoid that. This idea is why low-level IV therapy facilities are becoming more popular, where you can go if you have a particularly bad hangover or something. But some of the things that you offer, talk about, educate people about is also about the types of therapy that people can get. Besides hydration and weight loss, people are getting smarter, they know that they might have nutritional deficiencies, and they're getting tested. But at some point, people get robbed. Yeah, there's a limit to what you can die of. A lot of times we look at different pathways in the body under the tongue, but Ivy is another way around that. In other words, we can detect the levels that are missing by bot. When a patient comes in, we customize it for that person's needs. >> Then I make a cocktail for the patient, and the nurses serve it directly in the clinic. What are the benefits? The patient feels more energetic first. Their cells become more efficient. There are three categories of nutrition. One that I grew up with in nutrition is nutrients, minerals and antioxidants and vitamins. The other is QA, where we find heavy metals. Okay. We are exposed to metals, and the more we test for heavy metals, mercury, cadmium, arsenic, lead, we find that they inhibit the efficiency of the body. And the third is stem cell medicine. Interestingly, it introduces new cells into the body to help regenerate the body. Does SKS come into play when you do therapy? First of all, you're at RIT, because everything here can have side effects. You go to one of these places, and it looks like a great deal of food. You get delusions, low levels, something that you don't like. If there is anything. But usually, when the levels get high, you can get flushing. You can feel your heart rate go up a little bit, so you manage that. And you do that over a period of time. So you have to introduce it slowly and always be aware of the side effects. Some people start to detox. Yeah, you have to support that. 2. Interesting. So, if people were interested in coming to see you. >> And get IV therapy. What does that procedure look like from when they come and meet with the right person? What you're describing is our ID Wellness Club, which is one of our most popular memberships. >> And they come in to get an assessment. We do some nutritional analysis. We see where they are. We see what symptoms they have and how they work with what they're already doing. Then we customize an individualized program to support IV therapy. IVY placon clusters the rest of the body, IVY supports liver detoxification. Some people are simply nutritionally deficient. They don't have energy. But a lot of it is based on their history and their assessment. Interesting, right? Not really. People are looking for more information. Where do I go? Who do I call? Is there any social media where I can check that information out? You can contact the number below and contact the Naples Center for Functional Medicine and tell them you want to know more about the Ivy Wellness Club and we'll get in touch. I look forward to meeting you, lovely person. There's information on the screen. Everyone, check it out. Dr. George Morris, thank you so much for being here. It's good to see you. It's good to talk to you. I hope to see you again soon.

If you've ever been in the hospital as a patient or had any procedure as an outpatient, you may have been given medications through an IV. IV infusions are usually associated with illness. But what if that procedure could help unlock the key to health? Dr. George Moritz, who works at the Naples Functional Medicine Center, appeared on ABC7 to discuss the role of IV therapy as a health treatment option. IV therapy involves injecting vitamins, minerals and other supplements directly into the bloodstream. A registered nurse administers the infusion in a relaxing IV lounge where patients can read, listen to music, watch TV or simply close their eyes and relax. The procedure usually takes 30 minutes to an hour. Click here to learn more about the practice and services at the Naples Functional Medicine Center. You can also call us at 239-649-7400.
