To commemorate World Diabetes Day on November 14, Houston Methodist Woodlands Hospital hosted a diabetes education cooking demonstration in the teaching kitchen at Cook Family Health Education and Learning (HEAL).

Diabetes Educational Cooking Demonstration joins Houston Methodist The Woodlands' food and nutrition services director, nutritionist, and chef to show you how to make vegetable, quinoa, and chicken salads (including chicken and citrus balsamic orange herb marinade) Instructed patients and guests. Salad with vinaigrette and frozen yogurt fruit pops. During the class, participants learned more about diabetes nutrition, following a balanced diet, new health information about how carbohydrates are important and provide energy to the brain, and participants also had the opportunity to ask questions.
