Cincinnati and Arlington, Virginia, July 24, 2024 /PRNewswire/ — Today, Patient Points® and American Diabetes Association® (ADA) has announced a new health education partnership that will provide critical diabetes education to patients through the offices of more than 124,000 health care professionals nationwide. The new partnership aims to educate the more than 38 million Americans affected by diabetes and their health care professionals, caregivers and family members.
Diabetes remains a significant health issue in America. Between 2001 and 2020, the prevalence of diabetes among adults aged 18 years and older increased significantly. According to the most recent data from the CDC, approximately 12% of the U.S. population has diabetes and 38% are prediabetic. Of those with diabetes, 23% are currently undiagnosed, highlighting the need for more thorough education about the disease.
