Penn State Extension offers meal series for people with diabetes

People who want to learn how to better manage their diabetes can attend a series of in-person workshops offered by Penn State Extension. Sessions will be held from 4-6 pm on October 22nd, 29th, November 5th and 19th, 2024, at the Penn State Extension Lebanon County office (2120 Cornwall Rd, Ste 1, Lebanon, PA). LEBANON, Pa. — People who want to learn how to better manage their diabetes can attend a series of in-person workshops offered by Penn State Extension. Sessions will be held from 4-6 pm on October 22nd, 29th, November 5th and 19th, 2024, at the Penn State Extension office in Lebanon County, Pa. (2120 Cornwall Rd, Ste 1, Lebanon, PA). A follow-up class will be held on January 14th, 2025. The courses are offered for $39.

Eating for Diabetes is taught by outreach workers throughout Pennsylvania. The program targets adults with type 2 diabetes, prediabetes, a family history of type 2 diabetes or who are at risk of developing diabetes.

There will be four consecutive classes and a three-month follow-up, and each class will include a discussion of key information, food demonstrations, and physical activity suggestions to help manage diabetes.

Each session will provide participants with valuable information to help manage their diabetes. Registrants are strongly encouraged to attend all sessions in the series. Registration for this series must be completed by October 17, 2024.

In addition to the program booklet, participants will receive the Dining with Diabetes cookbook and course handouts.
