Effingham, Illinois-(effingham radio)- HSHS Medical Group Diabetes and Endocrinology – Effingham provides world-class care close to home. A highly specialized team of local experts, including endocrinologist Dr. Radhika Anam and registered dietitians and diabetes educators Tracy Dennis and Adrian Jarrell, work together to help patients manage their diabetes and provide the best We provide the tools you need to live life.

As part of that goal, HSHS Medical Group Diabetes and Endocrinology – Effingham offers free diabetes education classes and monthly diabetes support groups to support and encourage people with diabetes and their families. All classes and support groups are held at our office located at 500 N. Maple St., Suite 200 in Effingham.

Our schedule of upcoming classes and support groups includes:

Diabetes Comprehensive Education Class

  • This free class can help Gain a better understanding of managing all types of diabetes. Topics include nutrition, monitoring, medication, healthy coping, risk reduction, and more. Class participants receive personalized goals and a comprehensive diabetes management plan. A follow-up class will be scheduled after this first class.

Date/time: It will be held next Tuesday morning or afternoon.

  • April 2nd from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
  • May 7th 12:30pm – 4pm
  • June 4th from 9am to 12:30pm
  • July 2nd 12:30-16:00
  • August 6th from 9am to 12:30pm
  • September 3rd 12:30-16:00
  • October 1st from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
  • November 5th 12:30-16:00
  • December 3rd from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

diabetes support group

  • Connect with other members of the diabetes community in a supportive and caring environment. Each meeting includes education on diabetes-related topics, recipe demonstrations, and lots of laughter and fun. Registration is not required. Everyone is welcome.

Date/time: Held on the second Monday of every month from 6:00pm to 7:00pm
