On November 14th, the world literally glows blue. World Diabetes Day. And here in Melbourne, an event will focus on one of the most important issues in diabetes today. The entire event was about how the global diabetes community came together to #EndingDiabetesStigma. And you can be there too!

I’m delighted to be sharing the chair with Dr Norman Swan, physician, journalist and host of Radio National’s Health Report. The True A-Team of people from the international diabetes community will be joining us at this event to share their experiences with diabetes stigma and why efforts to end it are so necessary and timely. It will include representatives from the lived experience community, diabetes organizations, medical professionals and researchers from around the world. You definitely don’t want to miss it!

Those who are able to attend in person will have the opportunity to network with fellow diabetics. The opportunity for opportunistic peer support has been great and I am so happy to see some diabetic friends I haven’t seen in a long time.

This isn’t just for Melbourne locals. A live stream will be held for people around the world to watch, share and participate on social media. Participation is free and will be a great opportunity to see the diabetes world come together on a day dedicated to us.
