Dad sentenced after daughter’s diabetes related death

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) – The Evansville dad found guilty of a lesser neglect charge in connection to his daughter’s death, has been sentenced.

Court records show Brent Bredhold was sentenced to nine years in prison.

Authorities say his 12-year-old daughter, Alice, died of diabetes complications in July 2024.

They say Bredhold failed to help her maintain her condition.

Bredhold was charged with neglect causing death, but the jury found him guilty of neglect causing serious bodily injury.

Alice’s mother, Ashley Bredhold is awaiting trial.

Right now, it’s set for February 17.
