Information on diabetes education classes in March

MT Fun — Diabetes Education at Henry County Health Center will be offering the following classes in April.

Thursday, April 11 — Annual Review Course, 1-3 p.m., Suite 25

Please call HCHC Diabetes Education at 319-385-6518 to make your reservation by noon on Tuesday, April 9th. On the day of class, he must register at the HCHC registration desk before proceeding to class. This program is open to anyone with type 1 or type 2 diabetes who has completed a 10-hour diabetes class.

Thursday, April 18th — Continuous Blood Glucose Monitoring (CGM) Support Group, 2-3pm, Suite 25

Monday, April 22 — Diabetes Group Class, 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m., Suite 25

This diabetes education class is open to anyone with type 1 or type 2 diabetes. There is a charge. However, many insurance plans cover this program.

Call the HCHC Diabetes Education Center at 319-385-6518 to register by Friday, March and we will walk you through the process. twenty two.

Topics include meal planning and more. Exercise; Personal goals; Eye disease. Glucose monitoring. Foot, skin and teeth care. Complications of diabetes. Diabetes explained. drugs; and behavior modification. There will be time for questions.

The purpose of this program is to provide people with diabetes and their families with up-to-date information about the disease and to remind them that diabetes education is a lifelong process.

HCHC Diabetes Education is certified by the State of Iowa. We are also certified by the American Diabetes Association, which ensures that we meet national standards for diabetes self-management education programs.

HCHC’s Diabetes Education Team offers certified diabetes educators through the National Diabetes Educator Certification Board.
