The free diabetes education program, which begins March 21 and runs through April 25, will be held at the Fordland Clinic at 1059 Barton Drive, just north of four-lane Route 60 on the eastern edge of Fordland.
Classes are held every Thursday from 10am to noon.
There will be 6 classes. The dates are March 21st, March 28th, April 4th, April 11th, April 18th, and April 25th.
The class is free, but registration is required to participate. To register, call Fordland Clinic at 417-767-2273.
“These free classes are open to anyone with diabetes, prediabetes, their families, and caregivers,” the news release states.
The free 6-week program includes the following information:
• Proper exercise.
• Healthy eating and meal planning.
• How to prepare for sick days.
• Complications from diabetes.
• Where you can find support and succeed.
• Feel confident in your ability to manage your health while staying active and fulfilling.
As part of the program, Fordland Clinic will provide free A1C testing one week before class begins and on the last day of class. Lab time for the first test will be scheduled during class registration.
