MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – USA Health and the University of South Alabama Regional Autism Network (USARAN) are offering education and support to families of children with autism and other disabilities on Tuesday, April 28 focusing on safety from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the Strada Patient Care Center in the first-floor lobby.
The event will also include a “coffee chat” from 9-10:30 a.m. in the first-floor conference room at Strada, where an overview of water safety and other resources will be presented. During the resource fair, free life jackets will be provided while supplies last. Children must be present for fitting in order to receive the life jacket.
This fair will also offer local resources for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, as well as information and training related to autism.
Agencies participating include: Alabama Department. of Mental Health Autism Services; Auburn University Extension Agency; Children’s Rehabilitation Services; Coastal Family Partners; Independent Living Center of Mobile; Project Lifesaver; Project Transition; Safe Kids South Alabama; United Cerebral Palsy (UCP) Mobile; and USARAN.
