There are several ways to approach a healthy lifestyle, and one such method is to ensure proper nutrition and food intake.

News 9 spoke to Oklahoma Chef and Health and Wellness Coach Ahki Taylor to learn more about how to reduce unhealthy foods from your diet and find healthier alternatives.

Recommended food chef Afuki is a bakeless peach cobbler that cuts unnecessary fats and sugar but maintains its excellent taste.

You are from Oklahoma City. How important is health and well-being to your community?

A: We haven't done enough to give back to this community like this. Right now. Oklahoma is the country's 12th leading country due to obesity. With 42% of our people here being obese, we have to find a way to deal with this. I come up with some great recipes to help us.

So, what do we need to do to make this Peach Cobbler come true?

A: I'm going to jump in soon, guys. You will be my helper today. I'm going to take the date and nuts. This will become our crust. You're going to throw it into your food processor. Now you're going to add some agave nectar, to our peaches, which is our sugar. This can be fresh or frozen, then I start spices. Throw a little sea salt there and hand it over to me. Throw a little cinnamon there and we need to have a bit of sea salt as we want such a fake buttery vibe. I'm going to do some vanilla extract. Nutmeg is needed as there is no peach cobbler without nutmeg. Add it [the food processor]then you can pop that lid.

We just blend it and stir it well. Here we found out that it was done when we started to get a slightly sticky texture on the edge of the food processor. If you don't have a food processor, get it as it makes your vegetables very fast. So people don't want to do vegetables because they're always chopping. We don't need to worry about it now, you can marinate this, and we already have some marinated peaches here.

Now, once you've finished the crust, you need to start stacking it up and have some creamy ones, right? So, here are almond yogurt and coconut yogurt. This will be our cream. So what I do is for you to put almonds in this bowl and add a little Ryuuye nectar. We're going to separate, I'll put the coconut in this bowl. Not everyone is coconut, so we mix it well.

When it comes to eating a lot, can you tell me what your approach and philosophy are?

A: Great question. So my philosophy is to remove “dirty 5” items, such as flour, sugar, saturated oils, and excessive dairy products. If you can primarily enter plants, do that too. You have to raise your fruits, your vegetables, that's my philosophy. You don't need to go completely vegan. I've been vegan for over 15 years. You don't need to go there, but at least keep it to a minimum. More fruits. More vegetables.

What's next for Nobake's Peach Cobbler?

A: This is our crust and I hope we did a good job mixing it all together. We may have waited a little longer so that we could make it better and sticky. These have already been marinated. You can sit on them again for over an hour, freeze or fresh, and throw a little cream there. Either way, I like you. You might want coconuts. Someone might want an almond, and we throw some more peaches. Always more peaches. Backing it up will continue with the layer.
