Deanna Leonard, a licensed diabetes educator, taught class at the library for the Purchase District Health Department. “We learn about managing diabetes day-to-day, we help people to learn a little more about diabetes and answer some questions they have,” she said. “We also provide support to them for the resources they may need around the community.”
Leonard said that as a licensed educator, she’s available to call for questions about diabetes resources, and emphasized her love for teaching the group classes. “I feel like everybody learns from eachother,” she said.
