Marion County Hospital District to Offer Free Diabetes Self-Management Classes in Early 2026

The Marion County Hospital District will host a free eight-week Diabetes self-managment series Jan. 8-Feb. 26, 2026.

MARION COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – The Marion County Hospital District is hosting a free, eight-week Diabetes Self-Management Series beginning Thursdays, Jan. 8, 2026, through Feb. 26, 2026, from 10 a.m. to noon, at the Forest Public Library, 905 S. HWY 314A, Ocklawaha, Florida 32179. Classes are open and free to all individuals ages 18 and older who are prediabetic, diabetic, or for those who support someone with diabetes.

All participants will engage in the Diabetes Education Empowerment Program (DEEP), an eight-week curriculum designed to enhance diabetes self-care. Throughout the course attendees will gain knowledge and skills to better manage their diabetes, including guidance on improving eating habits, increasing physical activity, monitoring their body numbers, and preventing complications associated with diabetes.
