What are the risk factors for type 2 diabetes?
Age – over 45 Overweight or obesity Inactivity (not much exercise) Hypertension Family history of diabetes High cholesterol Family history of heart disease Ethnicity – certain ethnic groups (such as of Asian descent) have a higher risk Gestational diabetes (or giving birth to a baby weighing more than 4kg) Polycystic ovary syndrome (PSOS)

A simple diabetes test
The test for diabetes is quick and painless and you get your results within 5 minutes. You can have a blood glucose test done at your local clinic or pharmacy and thus find out if you are at risk of getting type 2 diabetes. If so, keep calm! It can be reversed. But only if you know you have it.
A good life with type 2 diabetes
