Children and dogs. A perfect match. A dog will provide companionship. Play fetch, cuddle and chase. A good buddy.

For Maybel Lowry, a dog would be much more. Possibly the difference between life and death. The Lowry family wants a specially trained service dog to help the family monitor Maybel’s diabetes. Maybel says the animal of her dreams is her “sugar dog.”
