NOWATA, Oklahoma – The Washington County Health Department offers free diabetes education classes for those trying to learn how to better manage their diabetes.
The Washington County Health Department is offering a variety of free classes this summer, according to the announcement.
“These programs are open to everyone and focus on fitness, education and prevention or management of chronic health conditions,” the announcement read.
Diabetes education classes are being held on Mondays from July 28th to August 18th at Nowata Public Library (224 South Pine Street, Nowata, OK 74048). Classes are from 2pm to 3:30pm.
“Learn how to control your health through blood glucose monitoring, healthy eating habits and diabetes self-management strategies,” the announcement read. “It's a supportive and beneficial environment for those who live with diabetes and want to prevent it.”
The Washington County Health Department says classes cover goal setting, blood sugar and medication management, and lifestyle changes.
“Diabetes self-management programs can help people living with diabetes live longer and healthier lives,” the announcement read. “Participants learn how to better manage diabetes. Information is tailored to meet the needs of participants.”
