Patients are now available to access telehealth diabetes management/education using McLaren Flint. Flint's programs are provided virtually and directly. The McLaren Flint Diabetes Education Program is accredited by the Association of Diabetes Care and Education Professionals.
Classes are provided to patients diagnosed with type 1, type 2, or gestational diabetes.
The patient's first visit is a 1:1 appointment with a registered dietitian. This visit includes the patient's individual needs, goals, and planning of the educational session. The patient will then participate in a series of three classes that address dietary planning, carbohydrate counting, blood glucose monitoring, exercise, medication, stress and coping, illness day management, and reduced risk.
Visits will be held in person and virtually.
